non slip marble

We receive calls very often about how to fix slippery marble floor tile. Marble tile flooring is truly beautiful but can be a safety hazard when it gets wet. Slick marble floor tile can be a liability.

There are three types of marble.

  • Polished Marble (continue on this page)
  • Unpolished or matte finished marble (continue on this page)
  • Synthetic marble or cultured marble (go to our non slip coatings page)
  • The treatment for polished marble is not the same as the treatment for ceramic tile. Be wary if someone is selling one treatment for all floor types. If you have highly polished marble then the product below will be best for you. (Safety Floor Treatment for Polished Surface Floors) SLIP RESISTANT SOLUTIONS has perfected a treatment for POLISHED surface floors such as marble, granite, porcelain etc. to raise the coefficient of friction which makes the floor much less of a safety hazard. This product will make the marblefloor tile less slippery while retaining the shine.

    To Order Slip Resistant Products

Once you have received your shipment of Polished Surface Floor Treatment, you will be instructed on how to do a small test area. This can be an extra tile that you have or a small corner of the room. This test will determine the length of time that the treatment will be left on the floor. This is critical to a perfect looking floor. If the directions are followed step by step the process should go smoothly and there will be no visible difference in appearance.

If your marble floors are NOT polished and safety is your main concern... then we will recommend the Ceramic Tile Product. If you want to be sure to keep the highly polished look then we recommend the Polished Surface Product.

If you have a man made marble which is also called "cultured marble" or "synthetic marble" then you will want to use a different product that we offer. Man made marble is made with epoxy and is not a mineral surface. We will want you to go to another page that tells you about a coating that will work on synthetic marble. This product has special application instructions that you will find on the page about this coating.

We are making this treatment available to homeowners and business owners who have slick marble flooring of any type, highly polished, matte finish or even synthetic, so they can do the treatment themselves if they wish.

The treatment to make slip resistant marble tile floors is a special mix that will not damage the appearance of the floor if done according to the directions.

    slippery marble bath

Marble bathroom floors polished to a glossy finish are very popular with hotel designers and the guests really like them too. Marble's smoothness makes it a dangerous material for bathroom floors and tubs.

According to statistics, the hotel industry slip and falls have accounted for over 40 percent of guest accidents. Bathrooms are in the top five places that these accidents occur.

Many of the upscale hotels have turned to marble to enhance the esthetics of the large bathrooms. Marble is indeed beautiful but can definitely be a hazard as far as slip and fall accidents are concerned.

We have traveled to upscale hotels and condo complexes to treat marble. After the treatment... the surface is much safer but there is no visible difference.

We believe that each type of floor surface needs to be treated specifically for its properties. It is not ONE SIZE FITS ALL.

    fix slippery marble stairs

All hard surface stairways can be treated with our products to make them much safer in case of rain. We often find that marble outdoor steps have the matte finish. In this case we might recommend stepping up to the ceramic tile product. This will provide even more safety when these steps get wet.

We have a product specifically made for marble stairs, floors and tubs. Please give us a call to discuss your situation to make sure you are getting the correct product.

    slippery marble

The tile that was laid on my outside walkway and 3 porches was extremely slippery when wet, creating a terribly dangerous condition. It was going to cost about $5,000 to demolish and replace. I found SLIP RESISTANT SOLUTIONS on the internet, ordered it, and hired a contractor to apply it. I'd do it myself, except I am a VERY senior citizen.

SLIP RESISTANT SOLUTION was easy to apply, and certainly did what it said it would do, and did not change the appearance of the tile. I even received a phone call from the company to be sure I was satisfied with the final results. Amazing in this day!
