The treatment for marble is not the same as the treatment for ceramic tile. Be wary if someone is selling one treatment for all floor types.

Once you have received your shipment of Polished Surface Floor Treatment, you will be instructed on how to do a small test area. This can be an extra tile that you have or a small corner of the room. This test will determine the length of time that the treatment will be left on the floor. This is critical to a perfect looking floor. If the directions are followed step by step the process should go smoothly and there will be no visible difference in appearance.

slippery marble bath

Marble bathrooms polished to a glossy finish are very popular with hotel designers and the guests really like them too. Marble's smoothness makes it a dangerous material for bathroom floors and tubs.

According to statistics, the hotel industry slip and falls have accounted for over 40 percent of guest accidents. Bathrooms are in the top five places that these accidents occur.

Many of the upscale hotels have turned to marble to enhance the esthetics of the large bathrooms. Marble is indeed beautiful but can definitely be a hazard as far as slip and fall accidents are concerned.

We travel to upscale hotels and condo complexes to treat marble. After the treatment... the surface is much safer but there is no visible difference.

We believe that each type of floor surface needs to be treated specifically for its properties. It is not ONE SIZE FITS ALL.

Slip and Fall Accidents Happen All The Time

The fact is, slip and fall accidents are all too common. According to the National Safety Council more than 20,000 people per year are injured in slipping accidents and over 600 actually die.

And an accident can happen when you least expect it. They can even happen during normal walking and on surfaces that may not look slippery at first glance.

It doesn't always take a wet surface to cause an accident either. Improper foot wear (like socks) on a slippery surface are enough to cause a serious accident.

When a floor is wet of course it can be slippery. But how will you know when your child spills water or splashes in the bath tub. Slippery situations can pop-up any time.

Business Liability For Slipping Accidents

Who is responsible for an injury resulting from a slip and fall accident?

Many thousands of people are injured each year -- some very seriously -- when they slip or trip and fall on a dangerous floor, a flight of stairs, or a rough patch of ground. Sometimes the property owner is responsible for the accident, and sometimes he or she is not.

Slippery When Wet SignHowever, property owners do need to be careful in keeping up their property. While there is no precise way to determine when someone else is legally responsible for something on which you slip or trip, cases turn on whether the property owner acted carefully so that slipping or tripping was not likely to happen -- and whether you were careless in not seeing or avoiding the thing you fell on.
