One thing that most people do not realize is that concrete floors can be treated to make them slip resistant. These concrete floors will be slip resistant and reduce slip and fall claims. This process needs to be done on unpainted or unsealed surfaces. In different facilities, slip and fall accidents happen in different ways. In hospitals for instance, there can be accidents in bathrooms, lobbies, showers, entry ways and any other place that can get wet. In nursing homes there can be accidents in shower rooms, individual rooms, kitchens, lobbies, entrance ways etc. In commercial buildings it is usually a restroom or a walkway or entrance or lobby.
All of these incidences can be prevented simply by having an etching process done to the floor that will increase the coefficient of friction.
